“The Bald Soprano," Ionesco’s first play, opened in Paris in 1950. Along with “The Chairs” which opened in Paris in 1952, they are two of the plays credited with originating what is now called the Theatre of the Absurd. In these two hilarious, head-spinning plays by the author of “Rhinoceros,” he makes devastating comedy out of people trapped in their self-tied knots!
